genneral war overview

Alfred caddick started the war as a teacher at wellington college and didn't join the war immediately but joined up on the 1st of January 1916 later that year he wrote a letter back to the school written at sea and in may so probably did not fight at the Somme however did fight at messines and pachendale and the final offensive of the war where he received a shrapnel wound to the head and was discharged and sent home to new zealand
